September Class

Tunisian Crochet Class - Two Sessions Wednesday, Sept. 12 & 19 | 6 pm - 8 pm
A little like crochet … a little like knitting … this is the beauty of Tunisian Crochet also called the afghan stitch. Worked with a tool that’s a cross between a crochet hook and a knitting needle, Tunisian crochet creates a unique fabric that can be used for cowls, scarves, blankets, garments and even hats. You’ll learn the basic Tunisian stitch making a spa / dish cloth.

$50 total for both classes, materials not included. No Previous Crochet Experience needed.

Viking Knitting (a.k.a. Trichinopoly)

Teresa Waldo - Instructor

$40 all inclusive, Sunday September 30, 2018 1-4pm or 4:30 - 7:30

Come learn the age-old technique of Viking knitting and walk away with your own finished charm bracelet. Viking knitting is done by looping wire around a dowel and then pulling the wire tube created through a draw plate to condense the tube down to the desired thinness. The finished piece resembles the look of knitting. In this class we will explore a brief history of the craft, the tools needed, and the many possibilities of creating beautiful jewelry with this fun technique. Then we will get down to business making a single knit bracelet with a charm attached that you can wear out the door.
