It's Time! Learn to Knit Part 1: Beginning Basics
In this 2- hour beginner class, you will learn the foundations of knitting:
- Yarn & needle weights
- How to read a yarn label
- Cast On – long tail
- Knit stitch – garter stitch
- Bind Off – standard
- Seaming technique
Project: Neck-Warmer Cowl, headband, or square swatch
Materials:
- Heavy Worsted weight yarn; 1 skein (Berroco Ultrawool Chunky. Included in class fee)
- Size US 9 (5.5mm) circular needles, 16 inch (24 inch will also work for this project). Purchase separately: Knitter's Pride or ChiaoGoo Bamboo
- Tapestry Needle Purchase separately Knitters Pride Wool Needle or Susan Bates Tapestry Needle

| Instructor Bio: | Jill is the owner, designer, and instructor of Knit Sisu knitting patterns. As a passionate knitter with a background in education, she writes patterns to uplift, teach, and motivate knitters as they make their hand-knit pieces. SISU is a Finnish word translating to a positive mindset of courage, quiet strength, and determination. Jill tries to bring a little Sisu to each knitter through her patterns and support. Designing with the Everyday Knitter in mind, Knit Sisu patterns are accessible and classic, with a touch of modern flare, providing knitters with joy and pride in their finished piece.
